Andrew J. Cerise is a PhD Candidate in American History at the University of South Carolina. He recently received his second MA in Public History. He first encountered Magnolia Mound’s history while writing a term paper on plantation museums and joined Cousins for Justice after writing a letter to the editor on slavery at Magnolia Mound.

Lou Duplantier
A 4-H educator in Plaquemines Parish, where they teach environmental and food education. She has written a thesis on Magnolia Mound that centers the life of enslaved people and documents Duplantier family capital as it was built through slave labor. This drove her to connect with other family members looking to change the public and personal narratives of Magnolia Mound.
